I hope everyone was able to spend some quality time with family and friends yesterday! I am so beyond thankful for laughing, face time with distant family, games and the simple fact that we are blessed enough to (over) indulge with delicious food made with love and full of tradition.
That is what our tablescape was all about yesterday. Ever so simple, but full of meaning and love. We made a table runner out of brown packing paper and listed a word at every place setting that is a pillar of Thanksgiving and a gratitude focused life. Each member of our family wrote what they are thankful for, fun quotes and memories from the day and anything they had on their heart. With our family, that meant a whole lot of goofy notes.
The cornhusk pilgrims were hand crafted by Adam’s great grandmother and how beautiful are those red glass goblets that our Babi Elsie had?! They elevated the settings so much. My favorite thing, of course, was the group of people around this table- priceless!
We didn’t forget our younger guests. Their table was covered with the same kraft paper and we gave them free reign for creativity and crafting their own little Turkeys!
In a later post, I’ll share how we are going to turn this into a very personal and meaningful Christmas gift for our grandparents this year. Now that it’s officially the Christmas Season, I cannot wait to share more with you about my favorite things!
